BS 6258, Stainless steel hollow bars for machining, was published in 1988 and includes a range of ferritic, martensitic and austenitic stainless steel hollow bars for supply in either the hot or cold finished condition. The 'bars' (essentially thick walled tubes) must be seamless to comply with BS 6258.
The standard is current. Stainless steel hollow bar products are not currently covered by European standards. Solid bars for general engineering purposes are however covered by EN 10088-3
