How to identify stainless steel and stainless iron

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is not easy to rust steel. It should be noted here that it is not easy to rust, nor is it impossible to rust. However, objectively speaking, stainless steel is not easy to rust or corrode. There is a protective film on the surface of stainless steel, that is, chromium-rich oxide film. Due to the existence of this kind of film, stainless steel has the property of not being prone to rust and corrosion. Studies have shown that with the increase of chromium content in steel, the corrosion resistance of steel in weak media such as the atmosphere, water and oxidizing media such as nitric acid increases. When the chromium content reaches a certain percentage, the corrosion resistance of steel changes drastically, that is, from easy to rust to hard to rust, from no corrosion resistance to corrosion resistance.

Stainless iron

Stainless iron is made from scrap iron, lead and steel through the secondary furnace recovery and subsequent de-smelting. Generally speaking, the naked eye cannot distinguish, nor can the magnet. Therefore, many illegal enterprises produce and use them in the market, and they are used in many engineering projects and decoration sites.

How do we distinguish the authenticity of stainless steel?

In fact, the easiest way is the price! The price of Stainless Steel much higher than Stainless Steel Iron. In addition, in terms of tensile strength, the tensile strength of stainless iron is 160-180 MPa, while the tensile strength of stainless steel is 530-620 MPa, the difference is obvious. Such a low tensile strength is prone to accidents. Therefore, in the case of low-priced stainless steel, you should carefully consider. We must resolutely ban stainless steel products.
