The difference between stainless steel flange and carbon steel flange

The main function of the flange is to facilitate the disassembly and inspection of the pipeline, to facilitate the replacement of a certain section of the pipeline, to connect the pipeline and maintain the sealing performance of the pipeline; to facilitate the closure of a certain pipeline.

The main features of carbon steel flanges:

It has compact structure, reliable sealing, simple structure and convenient maintenance. The sealing surface and the contact surface are often closed, not easy to be eroded by the medium, and easy to operate and maintain. It is suitable for general working media such as water, solvent, acid and natural gas. It is suitable for media with harsh working conditions, such as oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, methane and ethylene. It is widely used in various industries. The carbon steel flange is easy to operate and opens and closes quickly. It only needs to rotate 90° from fully open to fully closed. It is convenient for remote control.

When stainless steel flanges are connected, no matter which method is used, a suitable gasket must be used to transport the medium between the flange and the flange to achieve the purpose of sealing. Flange gaskets should meet the requirements, oblique gaskets or double-layer gaskets are not allowed. The gasket used for the flat stainless steel flange should be processed into a shape with a handle to facilitate installation or disassembly. The inner diameter of the gasket shall not be less than the diameter of the pipe, and the outer diameter shall not cover the bolt holes on the flange. When installing, pay attention to being concentric with the pipe.
