High temperature nitriding process of duplex stainless steel
The high-temperature nitriding process refers to holding for a certain time under high temperature and nitrogen-containing atmosphere to obtain a thicker nitriding layer, so that the surface layer of ferritic stainless steel or austenitic ferritic duplex stainless steel is finally transformed into high nitrogen austenite The process of the structure of the stainless steel. Here we studies the influence of heating temperature, holding time, nitrogen pressure and other parameters on the high-temperature nitriding process by performing high-temperature nitriding on duplex stainless steel, hoping to provide a new technical approach for the in-depth study and further application of high-nitrogen stainless steel.
Under the process conditions that the heating temperature is not less than 1200℃, the holding time is not less than 24h, and the nitrogen pressure is not less than 0.2MPa, a nitriding layer with a thickness of more than 2.0mm on one side can be obtained in stainless steel. For samples with a thickness of less than 5.0 mm, it can be fully penetrated nitriding. Among them, the 4.2mm thick sample processed by the 1200℃/0.3MPa/h process route has been fully austenitized, using 100 million 436 The average nitrogen content measured by the oxygen and nitrogen analyzer was 1.0%.
Therefore, the use of high temperature nitriding process to increase the nitrogen content of the stainless steel surface is effective. High-temperature, high-pressure and short-time surface nitriding can obtain a high-performance high-nitrogen layer on the surface of stainless steel, and make ferritic stainless steel or duplex stainless steel undergo austenite transformation through nitriding to obtain a multi-phase composite stainless steel material with gradient changes in performance .
