Global Heat Exchangers Market to Cross $12.7 Billion by 2021

With mainstay segments flaunting a broad base, the global heat exchangers market is set to thrive on replacement demand emerging from frequent upgrades and technology attunements. On the end-use front, the industry is witnessing a rapid shuffling of shares with emerging applications in environmental remediation, propped by tightening legislation, increasingly outnumbering the traditional applications within chemical, fuel processing, and power generation sectors. Rising energy prices are expected to be among the major drivers of heat exchanger market growth in the near future.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) October 22, 2018 -- Global heat exchangers market is projected to cross $12.7 billion by 2021. Europe representing the largest heat exchangers market, is estimated to account for a share of over 36% in 2008, and is forecast to cross US$4.5 billion by 2012. Asia-Pacific represents the fastest growing heat exchangers market, exhibiting a compounded annual growth rate of 4.8% over the period 2010-2020.

Heat Exchangers: A Global Strategic Business Report

Plate and frame heat exchangers market, the fastest growing segment, is projected to register a CAGR of 4.8% over the period 2010-2020. Asia-Pacific is the fastest growing market in plate and frame heat exchangers, and is projected to grow at a CAR of 7.5% during the period 2010-2020. Europe is the largest market, and is estimated to account for 45.7% of total plate and frame heat exchangers sales in 2008. Newer and thinner plate patterns, enabled by sophisticated computer aided design techniques are set to combat the plateaued sales in the highly mature standard plate and frame exchanger market. Easy-to-replace Clip-on and snap-on gaskets are also garnering growing popularity.

Shell and tube heat exchanger market, the largest product segment, is projected to reach US$3.5 billion by 2021. Europe, the largest market within the segment, is projected to grow at a CAR of 2% over the period 2010-2020. Productivity improvements, in terms of enhanced efficiency, greater durability, lowered fouling and metal fiber-enabled integral cleaning are set to revitalize the shell and tube exchangers market.

Sales of heat exchangers to the chemical industry, the largest end-use segment are projected to reach $2.7 billion by 2021. Heat exchanger sales to the fuel processing industry, the fastest growing end-use segment, are projected to expand at a CAGR of 3.2% over the period 2010-2020. Deriving growth from the astronomical prices of oil in the world, investments in fuel processing industry are expected to increase in the near future. These investments are expected to translate into orders for heat exchanger suppliers and drive growth. The market for heat exchangers used in HVAC & refrigeration industry is projected to grow to over $2.5 billion by 2021.

Shell and tube exchangers are forecast to retain their market dominance over the analyzed period, while plate and frame exchangers, air coolers, and other heat exchangers are slated to witness rapid market expansion through the years. Chemicals, and HVAC and refrigeration industries are expected to continue to be the major end-use industries for heat exchangers. Environmental concerns are likely to expedite the markets' adoption of closed cooling circuits, knocking out the open systems. All the end-use segments are bounded with different environmental regulations subject to several product standards that are constantly changed.

European shell and tube exchanger market is undergoing a phase of cutthroat competition, which is adversely affecting the margin of domestic companies. While low cost heat exchange suppliers such as from Italy are continuing to storm the North European regions (UK and Germany), those from outside of Europe have also been fueling the aggressive price war. Foreign entrants include suppliers from South Korea, China, and India as well. Consequently, this has led to manufacturers shifting production base to low cost East European regions, in order to sustain their margins and at the same time remain competitive. Surging metal prices and energy costs are also having a direct impact on profitability of heat exchanger manufacturers in the region. Though companies are devising strategies to sustain their markets, pricing pressure is expected to continue in future.

These and other market data and trends are presented in "Heat Exchangers: A Global Strategic Business Report" published by Global Industry Analysts, Inc. This GIA report discusses the prevailing trends, issues, demand forecasts, and activities that affect the industry.
