DIN 17744 17750 17751 17752 17753 2.4600 Hastelloy B3 Alloy
Hastelloy B3 DIN 17744 17750 17751 17752 17753 2.4600 N10675 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to pitting, corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking plus, thermal stability superior to that of alloy B2. In addition, this nickel steel alloy has great resistance to knife-line and heat-affected zone attack. Alloy B3 also withstands sulfuric, acetic, formic and phosphoric acids, and other non-oxidizing media. Excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures.
DIN 17744 17750 17751 17752 17753 2.4600 has poor corrosion resistance to oxidizing environments, therefore, it is not recommended for use in oxidizing media or in the presence of ferric or cupric salts because they may cause rapid premature corrosion failure. B3 alloy with outstanding resistance to hydrochloric and sulfuric acids in the as-welded condition and excellent thermal stability.
DIN 17744 17750 17751 17752 17753 2.4600 alloy is an additional member of the nickel-molybdenum family of alloys with excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperature. It also withstands sulfuric, acetic, formic and phosphoric acids, and other nonoxidizing media. B-3 alloy has a special chemistry designed to achieve a level of thermal stability greatly superior to that of its predecessors, e.g. Hastelloy B-2 alloy. B-3 alloy has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, to stress corrosion cracking and to knife-line and heat-affected zone attack.
This nickel molybdenum alloy 2.4600 (Hastelloy B3 or Hastelloy Alloy B4) has good stability against intergranular corrosion. Very high resistance against reductive media such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid over broad concentration and temperature ranges. 2.4600 (alloy B3 oder alloy B4) is used with acetic acid, hydrogen chloride, sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid, production of phenol, styrene plants. Our product range in 2.4600 (alloy B3 oder alloy B4) are tubes and pipes, fittings and flanges, accessories.
Characteristics of Hastelloy B3 2.4600 :
Maintains excellent ductility during transient exposures to intermediate temperatures;
Excellent resistance to pitting, corrosion and stress-corrosion cracking;
Excellent resistance to knife-line and heat-affected zone attack;
Excellent resistance to acetic, formic and phosphoric acids and other non-oxidizing media;
Resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures;
Thermal stability superior to alloy B2.
Limiting Factors of Hastelloy B-3 2.4600
Alloy B-3 has poor corrosion resistance to oxidizing environments, therefore, it is not recommended for use in oxidizing media or in the presence of ferric or cupric salts because they may cause rapid premature corrosion failure. These salts may develop when hydrochloric acid comes in contact with iron and copper. Therefore, if this nickel steel alloy is used in conjunction with iron or copper piping in a system containing hydrochloric acid, the presence of these salts could cause the alloy to fail prematurely.
